Technology Training Modules
We are continually developing training modules in various formats on many service provision technologies. Some of the current areas of focus for many of our clients can be seen below. Please contact us for more details of these and other technologies that are of interest to you or your company.
The new Internet of Things
Our modules explain the key technologies behind the Cellular Internet of Things, including the "light-weight" connectivity principles which result in reduced infrastructure and running costs for a wide range of applications. We give insight into various IoT deployment options, and the architectures, protocols and procedures used for these. We have developed content to support those who are involved in IoT development and operation, design and integration, and for those who are researching how IoT may benefit their business.
Advanced 3G, 4G and 5G systems
Successive 3GPP releases have substantially modified and enhanced the radio-access and core-network architectures, protocols and procedures. Many new techniques can now be deployed to boost user throughput, increase cell capacity, reduce signalling delays, optimise mobility and improve user experience. Our modules focus on these enhanced techniques and deployment options, including discussion on several key evolution features which are currently the subject of study or work items and expected to be finalised in the near future.

Enhanced Mobile Broadband Services
Our modules provide detailed coverage of the emerging techniques that have been defined for the provision, management and charging of enhanced mobile broadband services using policy controlled, evolved packet core and micro-service or service-based architectures. Features which have been introduced to more effectively manage capacity, differentiate subscribers and dynamically manage services are discussed, as it is crucial to understand their roles in optimising valuable network resources and monetising services.
Next Generation Radio Access
The 5G New Radio system includes Stand-Alone and Non-Stand-Alone deployment architectures, and many of the enhanced techniques that have been developed to support these are a logical evolution of those used in LTE systems. However, there is no 'backwards compatibility' requirement for NR devices and this has allowed many radically different features to be introduced which set apart the New Generation Radio Access system from any others that currently exist. We have modules covering the 5G NR and NG-RAN specifications from both a technical perspective for engineers, and a higher level perspective for managers and team leaders.
