Synopsis:

This course provides a detailed technical description of the various security solutions specified for UMTS. The security architectures and features detailed in Releases 99,4,5 and 6 are all presented, including example mechanisms for Identity Protection, Data Confidentiality, Signalling Integrity and Inter-Domain security. Security procedures generated from test network environments are examined using several protocol analysis tools, and example options for Network Authentication processing discussed. Brief overviews of the Ciphering and Integrity Checking algorythms are also presented.
