Course Title:

HSPA Protocols and Procedures

Duration:

2 Days

Cost:

£725

Synopsis:

This course provides a technical description of the 3GPP release 5 HS-DSCH and release 6 E-DCH features commonly referred to as HSDPA/HSUPA. High Speed Packet Access principles, mechanisms, signalling and data structures are discussed, and the protocol architectures for SRNC, DRNC, Node B and UE are all presented in detail.Key inter-layer and intra-layer procedures and protocol entities are examined with the aid of protocol analysis tools. HSPA triggering scenarios and the suitablility of HSDPA/HSUPA channels to support Voice and Media over IP are also discussed.

Pre-requisites:

A general understanding of UMTS RAN architecture (R99) and data communications principles.
